Warm and Cool Darks: 9/5/11

In this phase, I added cool darks and warm darks. I used my own handmade oil paints, which are a mixture of walnut oil and pure pigment. I mixed the paints with straight walnut oil and laid them in the shadow areas. I used a more golden dark for the warm darks, and a more lavendar dark for the cool darks. I don't own any black pigments; I do keep a box of leftover chips, scraps, scrapings, and pills of all colors of pigment; when I have enough, I soak them in some oil and break them up to make my darkest colors from.
